Nearly two years of showing up
The work came first

When the Los Angeles fires began in January 2025, our community needed useful clothing and a place to feel welcome. The People’s Free Boutique by Quirk grew from that immediate response. Clothing racks, donated pieces, volunteers and the experience already inside a fashion showroom became the beginnings of a free boutique.
Since then, the work has continued. The Foundation’s legal structure is new; the commitment behind our main project is not. By autumn 2026, we have nearly two years of service, relationships and practical lessons to build on.

A boutique experience, without the price tag
A free boutique starts with a simple idea: people should be able to choose what they wear. Clothes can be practical necessities and deeply personal things at the same time. A familiar shape, a useful pair of trousers or something that feels right can matter when much else is unsettled.
Our team brings fashion and retail experience to organizing donated clothing and welcoming neighbors. The aim is a thoughtful experience built around dignity and choice.
A lasting home for the work
Couture Zen Foundation gives this continuing work an organizational home. The People’s Free Boutique by Quirk remains our main project, carrying forward the name and community history people already know.
Our current focus is clothing support for neighbors affected by the Los Angeles fires. Ideas for additional projects are in development. We will introduce those as the people, resources and practical arrangements are ready.
Federal 501(c)(3) recognition is pending, and monetary donations are currently paused. Goods, gift cards and volunteer support remain welcome through our existing coordination channels.
